Sustainable Living Vermont

The words of Henry David Thoreau's Walden Woods had a large influence on me at an early age of 13. The idea of serenity, solitude and being at peace with nature were foreign to me, who at that time, was a young boy growing up in a fast paced suburban neighborhood. The thought that there existed areas of woodland and mountainsides where one could get lost for days on end in the natural landscape without the feeling of modern civilization creeping over your shoulder, began a fire which would later heat my quest for an alternative lifestyle.

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."
Walden ch.18 Conclusion- H.D.Thoreau ->

After exploring the US continent on a tour of our nation's national parks, living in London, UK and touring most of europe I landed in my fated destination, right in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. Vermont, with it's liberal thinking and progressive nature opened up a vault of learning opportunities in sustainable living and natural resources management. It has naturally and comfortably become home, though I am always finding new paths to explore.
